On February, 23 2014, at Lebanon Presbyterian church Troop 1111 celebrated an event known as Scout Sunday. Scouts participate on this day at the church and have a church service to honor and give praise to God. During the church service the pastor asks the scouts to come up and read short speeches for the service. The pastor of this church is Pastor Bob Titus, who lets the boy scouts have meetings in the basement of the church on Mondays. The Scout Sunday service was approximately one and a half hour long.

At the beginning of the service, it started off like any other normal sermon, but then Pastor Titus called up the scout Daniel DeCario to read the scout oath and law which are: On my honor, I will do my best, to do my duty, to God and my country, to obey the scout law, to help people at all times, and to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight. And the Law: A scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courtliest, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent. These are the things each scout follows each day of their lives.

After the service, all the scouts went out first and stood in a line outside the doors and shook everyone’s hands as they walked by. Once everyone had walked by the scouts stayed and talked with the church members and possibly had a coffee or two. Then everyone went home and the scouts prepared for the next meeting which was the next day.
